Is it a cavity from genetic causes?

Some new teeth have cavities when they first come out. These cavities we formed before the teeth break through the gum. This is called 'Dens invaginatus' or 'Dens in dente.' Invaginations occur occasionally in various teeth and various locations but predominantly in the permanent upper lateral incisor.

You can find black point on right upper lateral incisor. That is a genetic cavity which has just come out If it will be missssed, dental plaque will accumulate in the deep area of cavity. Therefore will decay progress very quickly and severely. That area is near the pulp chamber, there is some possibility that it will be necessary to treat the pulp. During periodic check-up, you should treat at an early stage.

Right x-ray indicates invagination like an ants' nest which extends to apical of root.

It is difficult to find out the invagination at first glance. It is necessary to detect it by using a dental probe and by taking an x-ray.

There are invaginations in the both permanent upper lateral incisors.
